About
Universal Theme Parks is the parks and resorts division of NBC Universal. In 2011, approximately 30.8 million guests visited the Universal Studios theme parks, making it the third-largest amusement park operator in the world.
Most of the time as digital designers, our work impacts users from a computer screen. Working with Universal Theme Parks has allowed us to extend that impact beyond the screen and into the amusement park.
The key goal for Universal was speed. Speed to load the site on users' devices, speed to obtain the necessary park information, and speed through the lines at Transformers: The Ride 3D.

Role
Our challenge was to deliver an aesthetically pleasing site that park goers could use as their park companion. What we delivered was a fully optimized front end experience that loaded, on average, 70% faster than other competing theme park sites.
